History of Our Company
In
1987, Ron W. Stodden walked into the Effingham County Courthouse
to register the name of a company that not even he knew how big
it would get. The name he registered was M.A.S.S. (Micro
Associated Systems Software). After a few years of preparation
and some business from home, Ron opened his first store at 1901
S. 4th Street Suite 16 in the Effingham Lincoln land Building on
February 10th 1990. While he ran the business almost all alone
only a little help from his family the business just kept
growing. In the year of 1998, M.A.S.S. Computer Systems became a
Corporation. Soon after this, Ron decided that he wanted to
venture further into the computer field. At this time M.A.S.S.
only produced and repaired computer systems. Ron then ventured
into the networking department and it soon became a success just
like all his other ventures. With the company growing Ron soon
had to start thinking of where to move his company it was just
starting to outgrow the now 3 suites at the Lincoln land
building. He soon found a nice location 1 mile north of the
Lincoln land building and decided to change his business
location. In 2002, M.A.S.S. Computer Systems was welcomed into
its new location 306 South Fourth Street here in Effingham.
After getting settled in for about a year, Ron decided again
time to move with the never ending field of computer technology.
In 2003 Wireless computer technology changed the networking
field here at M.A.S.S. Computers but also brought Wireless
internet to the company. In May of 2003 the City of Effingham
granted M.A.S.S. with the authority to put up a 65 foot Wireless
internet tower behind M.A.S.S. Computers Building. This tower
allowed M.A.S.S. to link with the 350 foot tower near Wal-mart
to produce wireless internet access to the Effingham area. In
the early months of 2004 the internet service was ready to begin
activating customers for service and is doing so ever since.
